Citrics

The clementine is a variety of mandarin orange (Citrus reticulata) that received its name in 1902. Its exterior is a deep orange color with a smooth, glossy appearance. Clementines can be separated into seven to fourteen segments. They tend to be very easy to peel, like a mandarin orange, but almost never have seeds, which is why they are also known as seedless mandarins. They are sometimes also called Algerian mandarins. They are generally juicy and sweet, with less acid than oranges. Their oils, like those of other citrus fruits, contain mainly limonene and myrcene, linalool, α-pinene, and many complex aromas.
